A Special Christmas Poem

I pray we all have a very Merry Christmas this year!  I hope that many have the opportunity of spending this special time with loved ones.  Enjoy the spirit of Christmas this season. Share your love with those around you and remember to serve those in need.

My gift to you all this Christmas season is a poem I wrote many years ago.  I wrote this while serving a mission for my Savior Jesus Christ in the New York, New York North Mission.  I hope you enjoy!

On a clear dark night, a bright star in the sky
There's a woman giving birth in a stable near by
Beads of sweat on her face, she bends down
To a beautiful baby boy who makes no sound

She starts to wonder what His mission will be
The magnitude of His calling or even His destiny
With His dark blue eyes and olive skin
This little One will save the world from sin

Teaching His word, working miracles by day
This infant child will show us the way
What matter of boy could this possibly be?
That the deaf can hear and the blind will see

The lame will walk, the dead will rise
He'll teach every soul, the humble the wise
As tears start to fall down her face
She holds on tighter with a firm embrace

The thought of His death comes to mind
This precious Babe will save mankind
From drops of blood at Gethsemane
To hanging on the cross at Calvary

Kissing His cheek she cracks a smile
At least He can be mine for a short while
Looking down at her beloved son
Worlds collide as they become one
With shepherds watching, the angels sing
For the Earth has now received their King!

May we all remember the true celebration and meaning of Christmas.  Use your family home evening time this month to talk about the Savior and the importance of His mission.  Sing Christmas songs, eat lots of cookies and serve a family in need.  Merry Christmas Everyone!
